Wasn't it convenient that the press conference regarding the referee scandal was held after the playoffs, draft and free agent signing period on the calender and before the US Mens team plays this summer? God I wish my life worked in that kind of orderly fashion. Makes ya think...

He's better than me

Every time I think I take sports seriously, I always find out there are 5 people who know and care a lot more than I do. And that's ok.

Having said that, Bill Simmons wrote a great column about the Tim Donaghy today.

Doesn't it seem like the 2000 playoff run followed some of these same themes?

The Philly Aspect of the Issue

I don't know about the rest of you, but The Delaware County Times is one of the more entertaining publications I read online every day. So much wacky stuff goes on in that small part of the Delaware Valley that, to us here at The Promised Land is "must-read".

So when all the news broke yesterday regarding what most of us have suspected for ...well, ever...that the NBA refs are "off", and that there was a Delaware County aspect to it....let's just say we were excited to hop onto the site this morning.

My only reaction to this point is this...sometimes people get in way over their heads and get no way out. If someone threatened your family I'd assume most of you would do whatever it took to protect them regardless of 1. the consequences and 2. how you got yourself in that mess in the first place.

Obviously this all sucks big time and will stain the game...my question is 'What were the guys on Donaghy crew thinking?' and how long has this been going on?
